TICKETS ON SALE
FOR MANITOBA’ S LARGEST SOCIAL
Party set for May 15th, 2010

Winnipeg, MB – (February 5, 2010) – Manitoba Homecoming 2010 has announced that tickets are now on sale for the World’s Largest Social set for Saturday, May 15th 2010.

“Socials are unique to Manitoba and have come to represent a very distinctive part of our culture,” said Kevin Walters, Manitoba Homecoming Executive Director. “The social symbolizes a meeting place where everyone is welcome so we thought what better way to invite people home in 2010 then to hold a huge province-wide social!”

Currently, 59 communities from across the province are coming together to take part in this true Manitoba tradition. All of these socials are fundraising endeavours for local initiatives in each community.

“This is a chance to celebrate and reconnect with family and friends, and an excellent fundraising opportunity,” added Walters. “Each community that has agreed to host a Manitoba Homecoming social has been asked to choose an organization or charity to receive the funds generated from the event.”

Participating communities include: Altona; Baldur; Beausejour; Binscarth; Boissevain; Brandon; Buffalo Point; Carberry; Carman; Cartwright; Clandeboye; Cypress River; Dauphin; Deloraine; Elm Creek; Ethelbert; Flin Flon; Gillam; Gimli; Grande Pointe; Hecla; La Broquerie; La Riviere; La Salle; Lac Du Bonnet; Marchand; McCreary; Melita; Morden; Morris; Neepawa; Niverville; Oak Point; Onanole; Petersfield; Portage la Prairie; Powerview/Pine Falls; Prawda; Rivers; RM of Piney, Rorketon; Russell; Sanford; Selkirk; Shoal Lake; Souris; Springfield; St. Eustache; St-Pierre-Jolys; St. Malo; Ste.
